What is NPAPW?

NPAPW is an initiative founded by Internet2 and GÉANT working across National Research and Education Networks (NRENs). These networks enable global high-speed connectivity to communities committed to sharing interdisciplinary knowledge and experiences to enhance our lives. For many, the arts play a vital role in understanding the world through creative expression. The NPAPW community is dedicated to connecting individuals who use network-based technologies to create and share artistic content in the performing arts, bridging physical and virtual spaces.

NPAPW25 is part of an annual workshop series hosted in a rotating city of Europe and the U.S. This international gathering offers attendees the opportunity to learn about collaborative technologies utilizing advanced networks which enable arts instruction and performance. Participants will experience master classes and live performances that leverage these technologies, share research on their effectiveness, and connect with colleagues and representatives from institutions advancing this realm of work. For NPAPW25, we encourage submissions that support music, theatre, dance, and other art forms as well as research enabled by high-performance networks.

Who should attend?

Performing arts educators from all disciplines, artists, music educators, composers, academic administrators, faculty, researchers, technology developers, cultural video producers, administration and staff from performing arts venues – anyone or any institution interested in using interactive technologies over high-speed networks in educational programs or performances.
