2-4 April 2019, Prague, Czech Republic
The Network Performing Arts Production Workshop (NPAPW) provides leading researchers, teachers, musicians, artists and technology developers a unique opportunity to learn about new developments in the use of technology-supported scenarios for distance learning and remote collaboration in performing arts and higher-education.
A “hackathon,” organized for the first time in the NPAPW, will allow attendees to learn, experience and compare practical use and scenarios of low-latency technologies for distance collaboration.
A unique live cyber performance will connect two organs in churches with other local and remote musicians and dancers in Prague and Barcelona, presented in a holography-style projection.
The workshop is organised by GÉANT and Internet2, supported by CESNET (Czech Republic), HAMU (Czech Republic), GARR (Italy), CSUC (Barcelona, Spain), ACOnet (Austria), Royal College of Music (London, UK), JISC (UK), CESNET (Czech Republic), APAN, Royal Danish Academy of Music (Denmark), New World Symphony (USA), Coventry University (UK) and University of Exeter (UK).
The 2018 Network Performing Arts Production Workshop took place on 24-26 April, 2018 at the New World Center, home of the New World Symphony, Miami Beach, FL, USA
